Wound up in Wexford

Gustav Adolfs torg

We are staying in a cheap but cheerful hotel in central Malmö. When we checked in, they gave us 2 vouchers for 50Sek (about £5) each, towards a meal in the hotel restaurant. This evening R and Z were invited to a party, so we decided to take advantage of the vouchers. Very disappointed. Service was mediocre, and there were only 3 items on the starter menu, not one of them vegetarian. And then there were only 6 items on the main menu. We chose Bouillabaise and steak. Both "off". So we cancelled our order for starters and left. We'd already started on a bottle of wine. Fortunately, the 2 50Sek vouchers were accepted against this bottle.

We found an alternative restaurant, Gustav Adolf, in the square of the same name. And the meal was great.

Earlier in the day we had enjoyed a visit to Ikea, where various essential items, such as an ice tray, were purchased. We treated R and Z to a meal there, before they cycled back to R's flat, with some flat pack furniture in the cykelvagn, whilst we took a bus carrying a large mirror. We helped with the construction, before leaving them to get ready for their party.
