First Fall Work Party

The first NSEA (Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association) work party of the season was on Whatcom Creek today. We were blessed by a break in the rains which began a few days ago, and there was a good turnout of very enthusiastic volunteers. We even had some sunshine!

There wasn't much planting -- it was mostly clearing weeds and mulching. An intimidating pile of mulch was gradually demolished and spread to nurture previously-planted trees and shrubs.

It was yet another inspiring day seeing people work to improve salmon habitat.
