Akaroa Harbour

A friend and I have set out walking the Banks Peninsula Track and have arrived at the first hut, Onuku Hut. Great accommodation - we’re very impressed.
Tomorrow we tramp to Flea Bay, and then Stony Bay.
The large frondy plants in the foreground of the image are Toitois, a New Zealand native, and Akaroa Harbour is beyond, more or less looking north.
It’s a 3 day tramp (hike) and will take us north along the eastern coast of Banks Peninsula. The remains of Cyclone Gita are heading our way, and the driver who dropped us off was warning of gale force winds on Wednesday. I doubt I’ll be able to blip again for at least 3 days. So long!
