In the pink!

Was a dreich, grey afternoon, so after taking a more colourful photo we went to the cinema.
Saw Darkest Hour, and I'd thoroughly recommend it; Gary Oldman was excellent as Churchill.

Will be interesting to see if he receives the BAFTA Best Actor award later this evening for this performance.
Difficult to know how his performance compares with the other nominees, as so far I've only seen one of the others (Daniel Kaluuya in Get Out). In both cases perhaps the strong script plays as big a part in the success of the movie as a whole. Or indeed, does the director's direction account for a significant part of it? Either way, always good to see a good movie at the cinema.
