Calne (Sunday 18th February 2018)

The 55 bus service that runs through Calne has been upgraded from today with these Stagecoach Gold buses that cost £250,000 each, and are claimed to be 90% more eco-friendly than the buses they are replacing. I might be tempted to use my bus pass to get out to the new Tesco using the service on a rainy day, though the journey is too short to warrant taking advantage of the free wi-fi. This is my nearest westbound stop. I got a wave from the driver.
I might get a blip from an upstairs window - you never know.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Tony Joe White - Hard To Handle (recorded February-April 1970, Nashville TN)
This morning's Cerys Matthews Show was themed around Mardi Gras, with recordings linked to Louisiana, Georgia and Alabama. Otis Redding, who wrote Hard To Handle was from Dawson GA, but she chose this version by Tony Joe White from Oak Grove LA. His brand of swamp rock perfectly suits his adaption of this song, in fact I prefer it to the original.
