Bullfinch

It may be several degrees colder than yesterday, but the birds think Spring is almost here. The birdie testosterone levels were running high on the Common this morning - male blackbirds fighting each other, male robins fighting each other, and two male pheasants having very loud and raucous territorial dispute. The ladies were all keeping well out of the way of their potential male suitors! This female bullfinch was taking advantage of some peace and quiet near one of the feeders.

Had intended to spend an hour or so working in the courtyard, but it was so cold and grey that I decided against it and, instead, spent a few hours trying to look like a domestic goddess. Meanwhile, MrM spent the time investigating the floor boards in the 'music room'. Apparently they all need to come up...
