Rediscovery 2

I rediscovered my postcard collection which I must have started when I was eight years’ old as the Chimpanzees’ tea party featured at London Zoo which I visited with my Mum on a coach trip in 1962. Mum really felt unwell on the coach as she was a nervous traveller, but we had a really fun day at the zoo in the pouring rain. We sat under a tree to eat our picnic and got surrounded by wasps. We ended up in fits of giggles, which didn’t really happen that often with Mum. Then I fell headlong into a puddle when I was running to see the chimps’ tea party! It was all good fun though, and I look back on that day as a special one. It’s funny what can turn into a special memory....
