Curling Interclub

Throughout the curling season, teams from different clubs have friendly games against each other in the Interclub League. This morning our club hosted Royal Montreal and for the first time, in honour of 100 years of women’s curling at our Club, an all women’s team was formed to play. Although I wasn’t originally scheduled, I spared in Sue’s place (her cold from the Bonspiel (see entries from Feb 1 to 4) turned into pneumonia. We lost or maybe just ran out of time :) It was a good game that could have gone either way and we enjoyed the friendly competition.

Here we are with the team from Royal Montreal. Although I did everything I could to set the camera up just right and organize the person pushing the button, there wasn’t much that could be done when we were camera bombed by a man with an iPad. Of course, half the people are looking one way and half the people are looking the other. I think it is kind of funny and perhaps a little representative of the way things went on the ice, so decided against a retake. I checked the other guy’s snap and the opposite people are looking his way. :)

Our team is in back. From left to right: skip Cathy Hughes, me, second MB Jeong, lead Wendy Yarnell. The women in the front are from Royal Montreal with the exception of Glenna from our club, who filled in at the last minute to complete the RM foursome.
