Lonely

The light smattering of snow that fell yesterday melted by mid-morning leaving a lot of disgruntled athletes.  Most of them packed up their skis, toboggans, luges, snowboards, and skates and headed for Mt. Baker 20 miles east of here where there are 224 inches of packed snow and 24 inches of new powder.   It was cold here and a beautiful windless, blue-sky day.  Only a few spectators were left to wonder what had happened when they arrived (late) at the venue and found nobody there except a couple of Mallards and this little Hooded Merganser who seemed happy to just float along without the excitement of competition.

Weather in PNW Stadium tomorrow is going to be very cold, in the 20s.  Optimists Cecil and Chloe stayed behind to practice their ice dancing routine.  Team Hummie is still here as well so tomorrow might be an interesting day.
