Valle dei Templi

After arriving in Palermo in the early evening last night, we got showered, changed and off out for a typically late Italian meal. Obviously, this was delicious and we went for some drinks in giro (where you by drinks in the bars lining a piazza and drink them in the social setting of the piazza itself).

Today we got the bus to Agrigento, after experiencing first-hand the chaotic atmosphere of Palermo, and checked into our beautiful little B&B (Picollo Gellia, highly recommended) and headed out again to the Valle dei Templi. This is a series of semi-ruined temples, built by the Greeks from around 600-400BC. The park is open until around 8pm and we went during sunset - and an electrical storm over Agrigento, making for awesome lightning views - which made it all the more spectacular.

After another shower and change, it was off out for another great meal, and networking with our European counterparts - befriending a Belgian.
