Faithful companion.

It is so hard to photograph a black dog, but Poppy is the antithesis of The Black Dog. Faithful,loving, devoted. But like that terrible image of depression, she rarely leaves my side.

She knows when I am preparing to pick up a teenager from a late party and hovers near the door until I say "come" and she quietly jogs out the door. Jumping into the front passenger seat of the car, she will try to steal a licky kiss before settling into the passenger footwell.
So the party teenager is especially greeted by Poppy, making them laugh before heading home.
She isn't perfect, mind, she is very aware of her competition, Cooper. She isn't aggressive, but ensures that she is at the front of the queue for food and love.
