THE prawn cocktail in any lingo regardless of how it appears on a plate or in a bowl.

Thanks to British cook and 1960s telly personality Fanny Craddock
the prawn cocktail came to be.
That fabulous gluggy orangey pink sauce a combo of mayo, tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper was very much a part of my 'posh' ( and very rare) dinner outings in Liverpool where I was at uni.
In particular at a Berni Inn...a BIG night out (with a bottle of Mateus Rose no less).

But back to the name?
Think a 16centuryTudor sunken ship the Mary Rose, a 20th century salvage and a condiment poor Navy Chef feeding the hungry divers with a French twist....MarieRose
