Madame in the morning

Those round eyes! Here she is holding court from what we call her 'Moses' bed.  Instead of along the Nile, she's moored in the kitchen hoping for butter to appear. Imagining, willing it, spread lavishly on toast with some for her. She instead had a miracle morning. Perhaps remembering those imploring eyes and their subliminal message, I made a rare visit to Dunkin' Donuts. I had a craving for sesame seed bagel with cream cheese. Ah, cream cheese, a spread even more rarified and delicious than butter, high on her list of human delicacies. Madame always wins.

For the Record,
This day came in with bright sun and a skiff of snow on the lawn and pines, really beautiful.

All hands agree with this voice of reason,

MassachusettsTeachers Association President Barbara Madeloni issued the following statement today concerning President Donald Trump’s suggestion that educators should be armed...
"The president's suggestion that we arm educators is simply outrageous. It reflects a bizarre commitment to violence as the answer to problems. This says something not only about the president, but also about a deeper violence in our society. The students organizing to end gun violence and the educators who are joining them have committed to a more peaceful world. That is a message and struggle we should all take up."
