Amaryllis

Just look what has emerged from the amaryllis pot! The two leaves from last year's bulb have been lying there, 85cms long, absorbing the light from the window and little else, so it came as a surprise to see the bud today.

Typically enough, I expect it will be at its best while we are away, to be enjoyed by the cats and the rest of the family.
