Midnight Rose

I spent most of the day painting a doll's house my Mum had bought for herself and building a flat pack furniture unit to stand it on, so there was little opportunity to dig the camera out. Just before going to bed though I noticed this climbing rose gleaming in the rain, backlit by an orange sodium vapour street light.

The tripod was buried in the boot of the car and at this time of ought was going to stay there! So I push the ISO, rested my elbows on the windowsill, held my breathe and took a chance. I tried some with and without the kitchen lights on, and this is the result. Hopefully you agree it's not that bad.
