Taranaki

Standing at 2,518 meters Mount Taranaki is New Zealand's 3rd highest mountain, it is an active but 'quiescent' strato volcano which had its last major eruption around the 1860s. It is an illusive mountain, quite often wreathed in clouds; today was a rare perfect glimpse between clouds.
Taranaki, in line with the wishes and tradition of the local Iwi (tribe) has been granted, by law, the status of a living entity.
The European name is Mount Egmont.
