Sentinel

The sun lighting up his hairdo gave him away--otherwise he pretty much blended in with the tree. It was a lovely frosty morning along the beach. As soon as we got out of the car there was a commotion overhead: three red-tailed hawks were floating high above--just like the song: making lazy circles in the sky. A few crows tried unsuccessfully to run them off; eventually the circles got wider and higher until the hawks simply disappeared. 


Our grandson placed first in today's 60m hurdles finals in Seattle with a time of 7.71 seconds, tied for 5th place in the nation.
