Crowning Glory

We last played the Crown a couple of years ago and it was hardly a resounding success, not a bad gig but one we all felt was a bit of a let down.

So when Jason (standing with his gob open under the stella sign) asked if we would play at his 50th we did consider not doing it, well for about 2 seconds.

We split the set in half and expected the first half would be pretty quiet.. But no, they took a couple of songs to walk up and then kicked off when Bill stepped up for Fishermans Blues.

The rest of the night was a blur, well a blur, some Elton john , a little cult, some black crows, the clash and a smidge of Bruno mars, amongst other things.
They loved it, and were going properly bonkers by the time we were getting to the end. The new songs went down a storm, we had a half naked bloke up on stage (to be fair it was Jasons twin Rowan who owned half the party) and most of the pub singing along to a certain cheesy Scottish classic.

Playing with a partially working hand was a little tricky but a lot of painkillers and a couple of pints and I bravely battled my way through. On the upside it made me feel less guilty about my mistakes ;)
