I SAW A BOBCAT JUMP OUR FENCE
Landing in the desert behind our house.

With camera in hand,
I edged toward the fence to sneak a peek.

That's when I saw:
Not one.
Not two.
But three bobcats.
A gorgeous mother with her young.

They were spread out among the desert plants and trees.
I jumped (well, crawled over) the fence to look around.
Suddenly, I was face to face.
With this handsome feline.
A mere 30 ft away from me.

Wow.
He looked at me.
I looked at him.
Neither one of us moving for about 5 minutes.

I calmed enough to thank him.
For this moment he'd given me.
And then he walked deeper into the desert.
