Falcon Fuji

Our Japanese class had a trip to Fuji-san. The bus ride was long and filled with songs about Fuji, bingo, and a quiz. Fuji-san kept growing on the horizon, and was so huge I thought we had reached its base an hour before we actually did. The world's most perfect mountain had a dusting of snow, and we were lucky enough to have good weather.

Initially, I was disappointed that we would be spending an hour at a bird sanctuary, as I simply wanted to take landscape photos of Fuji. Then we sat to watch a display, and I spent 20 minutes trying to get this shot. Frame with foliage, put on rapid shutter, manually focus on where you think the bird is going to fly. The rest was good luck.

Bye Barbara
