The Wonky House

"Der Eimer" is a pub that I don't think I've  actually ever seen open.  The name puts me off hanging around to to try it as it translates to "The Bucket" or "The Bin".

Bad day at work.

I've got a training course on Thursday.  And after the course I'm supposed to support the software for everyone in the company that uses it.  That's fine.  I'm quite happy doing that.

However.  We're having a swap over of project leaders at the moment.  my current boss is heading off to a new team tomorrow, and our new boss arrives on Thursday.

He booked a meeting with us all for Thursday morning.  And sent out an E-Mail that said "it would be great if you all could take part in this meeting, even if you have to cancel other meetings you have planned".

That is quite black and white to me.  I could explain that the training is important but he has quite explicitly stated that we should cancel any other meetings in favour of sitting around introducing ourselves.

I have one of those choices that isn't a choice.

Go to training course and not miss the first hour and risk alienating my new boss (and I think "risk" is under-egging the pudding here).  Or miss the first hour of my course and arrive late and spend all day trying and failing to catch up.  There's only one of my team on the course and that's me.

That feels more than a little unfair.

Consequently I'm not in a good mood.   I refer my honourable Blipmates to the PG Wodehouse quote from a few days ago.
