Slates of ice
A cold blast from the east is pushing the jagged ice slates against the bank of the loch. Their sharp edges pierce the light, their shiny surfaces burn with sun. A few hours later, unsurprisingly, they are gone. They have melted back into the peaty loch water.
Extra: A battle between an Aurora and the Moon in the small hours. Followed by the most beautiful red Moon setting sometime before 6am. It was worth being woken up to watch it disappear behind the Isle of Coll.
