Snow Day

Norwich, and much of the surrounding county, woke up to a white-out this morning.   The lack of traffic meant we knew what to expect when we opened the curtains (extra pic) but this was one of the most extreme snow events we have had in the 26 years we have lived here ... and the snow continued.  The main pic shows the almost blizzard conditions as the wind whipped up the snow during another burst of heavy snow later in the morning.

The afternoon was brighter but still freezing cold.  Jamie determined that he would go out and play in the snow.  I pulled the sledge out down the garden and he then disembarked and spent an hour or so on a proto-igloo (second extra pic.)  Hot chocolate was much enjoyed after this :-)

I did look for a snowy flower blip but apart from recently blipped Daphne mezereum, everything else, including yesterdays star, was buried under another 7 inches of snow!
