Momentous Move

Somebody wasn't too happy with the rain today, but think he was the only one; he belongs to the town council's architect, but always comes to Chaminé for his lunch...

...where we were eating lunch with our new French friend, before taking her to the small house we've arranged for her to rent while she does up the property she's buying. She thinks it might be a fortnight; I think she's very optimistic...

... and then back to packing up and cleaning. We have actually moved to the Land tonight. Feels momentous. There are still a few things at the flat, but it's mostly here. Imagine the contents of a large three-bedroom flat in one room (with some boxes in the other, non-habitable room)... And we still have no pump on the borehole - but Mike has rigged up a system for now, the wood burner is lit, he's made bread, and a good red is poured. We're not drinking for Lent, but this is an exception.

Extra is a view of the flat from Stefen's little house - it's the only third storey building in town; all four windows were ours; in front of the first one, you can see our "lady" - I'll miss the views from up there, and "our" storks as well...
