Another Snow Day...

Thankfully we have not been forced to go out today for pressing reasons, but I did have to go out for some bread and water-softener salt... while at the garage I ordered two new tyres for the car.

Today we had new birds in the garden, but by the time I had the camera set up the Siskins and a Redwing had gone... leaving this really handsome Fieldfare to take up ownership of half the lawn. These birds will quite fearlessly defend a food source, in this case some apples, against almost any other bird... Fieldfares and Redwings are winter visitors from Siberia and Scandinavia and sometimes form huge flocks.
