Mrs Blackbird grabs the nosh

We are "camping out" in our Annex while we wait for our cellar to be re-proofed; and the Annex has large windows overlooking parts of the garden.  So it is relatively easy to watch ground feeders collect the food that we put out for them.  Blackbirds continue to be my favourite bird, and it was quite traumatic a few years ago when a bird of prey took one from our lawn.
