Bringing up the sun

After a good and long sleep, I woke up shortly before sunrise. Even before I had changed and headed out in running gear with camera, I had today's extra. The Pentax autofocus is misbehaving for shots like this, and I missed one with the moon well away from the clouds. Patiently waiting for the clouds to move away, I had less than 10 seconds to get this picture. Thereafter the clouds totally hid the moon.

I crossed Great North Road by the NZ Army Northern HQ, and in the old working class (now very expensive) area of Arch Hill, I was in time to record the nascent sunrise.
