No work or school today!

It took 3 hours to get home from Durham last night (what is usually a 30/40 minutes journey)! The conditions were awful on the A1 and things only got worse during the night. What a relief it was to be instructed not to travel to work today but to stay safe and warm at home. Hubby had had to travel to work and support others getting to work in his 4wheel drive to keep the ambulance service running. He called me to strongly advise not to go anywhere either.
6th form was closed for my daughter so we enjoyed the day together with the dogs. We had a little walk to the local shops for baking ingredients and then savoured freshly baked scones with jam and cream!
