Siege mentality!

I always have more than is necessary in my store cupboard. I have this urge to be prepared for forays into new recipes/visitors/emergencies.
The fact is that these days I don't do many new recipes, as I don't get many visitors, and the village has a co-op that functions pretty well, even in bad weather! Still, I thought it made for a colourful image in this current monochrome world.
Speaking of which, I went got a walk out in the village this morning, and noticed the rooks around their nest. (Extra photo).
