Overpopulation has a ceiling: earth’s total surface area divided by the dimensions of one economy seat. One more baby is born and hello cannibalism.

I indulge in consumer activities in the morning - a new laptop for Claire and some socks for me - both overpriced. Then it’s back to my familiar habitat, the airport.

The flight is full, many people completing journeys disrupted by yesterday’s weather. For some reason the departure is delayed, causing lots of consternation for all the passengers hoping to get connecting flights out of Charlotte - the majority.

My hire car is waiting. It is sunny, but not warm. I get to my AirBnb, go to the movies, and eat some Italian food. All good.
