Adventure Day

What an amazing day! I have been driven around all day from fab site to fab site. Struggled to choose what to blip but went for this in the end.

"The site of Fetternear Old Church lies in mature woodland on land that is part of the Fetternear House estate, on the west bank of the River Don. The chapel is thought to date to the mid 12th century and may have received a charter from Malcolm IV (1160). There is some uncertainty whether the chapel was ever a place of worship - rather a private burial place. Indeed two later 19th century 'chapel' buildings, which were built by Fetternear Estate on this site were never consecrated and were instead private mausoleums"
