... the 22nd of October. Hmmm.

The local big display - Ebley Fireworks ("Gloucestershire's Premier Firework Event" no less) - is always ridiculously early in the blowing shit up season and this year was no exception. Even though burning money seems odd, the Rotary Clubs that organise it have raised loads of cash over the years to donate to local causes.

The Five Valleys does make it a rather special venue for observing. The surrounding hills are always crawling with folks watching it and the reports echo down each of the valleys for ages after the initial boom; creating a "rolling thunder" effect. All in all pretty damn good.

Less great was my ISO14001 audit today. We'll get through it, but there'll be some definite non-conformities to address before that magical certificate appears on the wall/ website etc.
