Red Shouldered Hawk

Wendy and I finally had a day when we could get outside together for some photography.  We went to two lakes in Howard County, the first of which neither of us had ever been. The trails were quite difficult and there wasn't much wildlife.  At the second lake, we walked the 3-mile trail around it and saw deer, woodpeckers, and a pair of Red Shouldered Hawks that were making a nest and later we came across them seated side by side on a branch.  When they were perched next to each other they never turned around for a decent shot,  but after one flew off I was able to get this shot...perhaps she's looking back and wondering if he is returning.
