Pollen

The snow finally melted today, and a spell of warm sunshine this morning brought all the spring flowers back to life, though some were looking a bit worse for wear. Certainly there's plenty of pollen on these crocus stamens. Crocus tommasinianus is an excellent source of pollen and nectar for early-flying bees and hoverflies, and naturalises well in both shady and sunny places..
