Woman at Work

Tai Chi/Qigong Teacher, Kim, in her backlit dojo, after class today.  (yes I asked if I could have a quick photo with my iphone)   A girl from Nebraska, she has many years experience with the martial arts. ..this is her latest  location (15 years) for her school, Embrace the Moon, founded in 1995.    But not for much longer.   Small businesses like this are getting priced out of most areas of Seattle…The rent is too high so after July other venues will be looked for.   Kim is a direct disciple of the 19th generation lineage holders of Chen style Tai Chi, having studied there many years and this is the only school in the Pacific NW to host the Chen family during their US visits…. one of which is coming up in a couple of weeks (his last visit to the US.)   One of the students is Chinese and can translate for the grandmaster who is coming…. the poster in back shows some photos of his previous visits.  Much anxious preparation is happening……some of us are hoping we don’t embarrass Kim!  :-)  I'm trying to learn how to say hello in Chinese!
