Spek's Centennial...

I have no idea who Spek was, but obviously was very old. I love the colour of this rose. Surprised to see it full of rain after a lovely downpour we had today.
Being the nosy soul I am, I googled "Spek" --
JAN SPEK ROZEN is one of the oldest rose companies in the world. A Dutch family business with a great and reliable name in the National and International rose world since it was founded (in 1890). (Look at our history under Company.) Garden roses as well as many cut rose varieties have found their way on the international rose markets. New developments in both groups, garden roses as well as in breeding and growing cut roses has always been important to the Company. 
So there you are. Sam McCredy bred this rose and named it after this family .
