LATE FLUTTER...

... had a super day at Alice's School - they held a "mock" Commonwealth Games Day. In a few weeks the Games are being held in Queensland.

It was the "real deal", with the Queen's message, the baton arrival at the opening ceremony, and then the games.
The kids had a ball ( think the parents/grand parents etc there did also) - the ages were sorted and all allocated a country to represent. Alice was in the Samoan team, and they did really well in the range of games and ended the day coming second.

So well organised and done, the school should be very proud of their results.

Anyway, on getting back home ducked down to the dam to see what doing, and liked this of a willie wag tail flitting around - thought the effect of sun reflecting on the dam and the reflection of the bird in amongst the reed quite effective. Even if not such a sharp shot - I mean they fly at a thousand miles an hour so suppose not too bad!!??

Enjoy, and have a look in LARGE

.. check the extra #1 a duck taking off, and extra #2 a pair of red rumped parrots sitting on the fence laughing at me!!
