Russ' Cake Day
There is a woman in our complex who bakes cakes for everyone's birthdays, but she is only here a few months every winter. That is great for those who have birthdays in January, February or March, but those of us who have a birthday in say October are out of luck. I was lamenting this fact at our latest birthday celebration last week, when she told me that if I supplied some cream cheese and a couple eggs, she would bake her last cake mix for me before she left on Wednesday. That seemed like a very small price to pay for a cake all to myself. This morning, in time for breakfast, she delivered on her promise. I realized I should have documented such a generous gift after I had already had a piece with my morning coffee, hence the missing corner.
