Ghost of a Plane

Things are getting sorted out with regard to dad having money stolen from his bank account just over a week ago. The cash has now been refunded to his account. And I was in Hanley at lunch time today making a statement with the local constabulary.

I was a little early so popped into the Potteries Museum close by. The museum usually houses a spitfire, as the designer was a local - Reginald Mitchell. But the spitfire was missing!

Apparently it's being refurbished and will be away until 2019. So in it's place is a life size sculpture of what looks like the skeleton of a spitfire. It's pretty impressive.

A team of apprentices at a local engineering works worked in their spare time to create it. They were helped by professional artist Suhail Shaikh, whose paper sculpture of the plane is also on display alongside the steel one.
