Life through the lens...

Browned off.

The flower, not us!
Unfortunately the early spring flowers have taken a real battering.
One of the reasons we visit Cornwall at this time of year is to see all the beautiful camellias, and magnolias.
Well you can see here what has happened to the camellias. Mostly brown, but fortunately the new buds are opening perfectly.
Still haven't seen any magnolia trees, but we hope to go to some of the gardens next week. Not expecting to see the usual spectacular display.

After 4 days of glorious weather we have had nothing but fog and rain since 10 am.
We had decided to meet our friends for lunch today, which was a wise move.
Spent a delightful few hours at one of our favourite  places, The Tolcarne Inn at Newlyn.
Near the fish docks, Ben Tunnicliffe serves the freshest of fish.
The menu changes daily, depending on what fish he buys.
I had a delicious fish soup served with rouille and crostini, followed by roast fillet of gurnard, with smoked bacon, potato, kale, and baby onions.
Too full for pud.
We then went back to our friends mobile home. Still pouring down, and so we warmed ourselves up with a few glasses of mulled wine.
A great way to spend a miserable wet foggy day.
