Crocus boryi x tournefortii, a hybrid which occurs in nature as well as in cultivation. Two Greek crocus species combining to produce a plant which although it does not quite match the beauty of either parent redeems itself by being a 'good doer'. Crocus tournefortii is unusual in that its flowers remain open in dull weather and at night, so this is the only crocus to open its flower here today.
