Englishman in the Balkans

Cooper the Gonič

19 degrees today!

We have gone from -16C to +19C in just a few short days.

At home, everyone is feeling uber lethargic. The lethargy is being attributed to this weather change.

I am not really buying that, but I do have to say that my entire day has been spent crashed on the couch.

I feel exhausted. Hopefully my get up and go will have got up and come back in the morning?

We have 2 dogs and 3 Cats.

This is Cooper. He was born in the village and we adopted him when he was just a few weeks old.

He is six and a half years old now.

Unlike most dogs in the region, who suffer terrible abuses, Cooper has only experienced love and "high dining".

Cooper is a mix between Istarski and Posavski gonič.

So his roots lie from gonič of the Istria area of Croatia and the River Sava valley (just to the north of us), in effect the border between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He should be a working scent hound, but in reality he is a bit of a diva and drama queen.

We love him tremendoudly.
