Frozen Surf

Thank you very much for the kind comments and stars on Archie's picture from yesterday.

Today, he had his first ever visit to Lochan na h-Earba. He thought it was terrific.
We have been here at this time of year before following a cold spell and a drop in water level on the loch. The resulting formations today, I have never seen before. There was a thick blanket of ice undulating over the sandy beach but in the last 15 metres or so before reaching the water there were distinct long parallel mounds of heaped up ice. They are perhaps formed by slushy water surface snow blowing up against the shore then refreezing and forming a barrier for further accumulation and so on. (Just my theory). Subjectively they gave the impression of large Atlantic coastal waves instantly freezing.

Archie found it all very exciting.  Just have to do a couple of extras:
