Market

The hotel I am staying in is...basic. I’m in this one for a month but there are no drawers or shelves, and they haven’t even thought to put hooks in. This means I have a month’s worth of belongings arranged on the (dirty) floor. Sorry, there is one shelf in the bathroom. But it has been attached to the wall in such a way that it is very sturdily fixed at a 45 degree angle, so its utility is limited.

Outside the hotel is much better as it is the heart of the district’s wet market. This morning I saw a man hitting eels with a block of wood, and the diversity of vegetables is exciting, even if I don’t have any means to cook them.
