Building Sn3 and N Worlds

Finished the Yule Marble Company

Today I finished building the Yule Marble Company on the N scale railroad.  A few fiddle parts but with some sanding all is well - or well enough for old eyes.  I added some weathered pieces of square plastic stock for raw material.

The extra blips are of the Yule sign, and of the narrow gauge (Nn3) yard that serves the marble plant.  Yes - I know that the actual plant was not next to the Argo Mill, actually in Marble Colorado.  But it is my world.  The RGS and DRGW Nn3 railcars are only for display and do not run.  On the old layout I had a running Nn3 loop and frankly, it was so frustrating that I decided to sell the locomotives and use the carts for show.  This way they do not fall off the track.

The crane is busy getting a finished carved head onto some sleepers.  Evidentially the folks at Easter Island ordered some new heads.  Go figure.  They came from Shapeways and were 3D printed by a very skilled computer jockey.  Amazing technology.

Next step - tree making in N and S scales.  This scene really needs some trees.
