Sunday: Fraser, Meet Blipworld

So yesterday I alluded to the fact that we had been to Mission on a mission. Well, say hello to the latest addition to the family, Fraser.

We do miss Fred and Max terribly and were talking about how odd the house felt without cats. Once we got back from Mexico we had a bit of a look to see which kitties were out there and this fella caught our eye.

He is 6 1/2 years old and was given up for adoption a month ago because he didn't do well with young children. It seems once the babies became toddlers they were a bit boisterous and that wasn't his thing. It's very hard to make a decision based on a photo and some interaction in the stressful (for the cat) environment of the shelter. But he seemed gentle and sweet so we took a punt.

So far, he's settling in beautifully. He is relaxed, affectionate and seems very happy. He's certainly purring like a little tank.

For those of you who knew Fred from this journal, there are similarities. But Fraser (renamed from 'Buoy') is lighter in colour, much smaller and has quite a different temperament. I'm sure we're all going to become very fond of each other.
