Veiled Vines....

Maisie and I were walking before dawn this morning. A beautiful dew-fresh morning. We saw many of our dog-walking friends and their pooches out savouring the crisp autumn air.,
Many of the grapevines on the Wither Hills Wine Company are shrouded in netting at present. I think they look like billowing bridal veils but the unromantic reason is that the netting helps to prevent the onslaught of small birds who love to feast on the ripening grapes. The growers are hoping for more sunny days with brisk breezes to ripen and dry out the grape crop.
