Reflection in my birdbath

This birdbath seems to have a life of it’s own. It originally belonged to my mum, and when she passed away and her house was sold we brought it down to ours.
But it gets this weird slightly erupting reddish growth in the water.
I’ve tried everything to get rid of it but it always comes back.
Still, it makes very surreal reflections.
