PELICAN IN A TREE!!

Who knew that pelicans perched in trees?  With their webbed feet, I wouldn’t have thought they’d be able to sit on a branch, but it looks like their flexible feet are able to wrap around a limb (even a twig) to grasp it.  (These trees are next to a fishing pier and at least 60 ft. tall.)  I don’t think ducks are able to curl their feet like this, so this ability must be unique to the pelican world.  To see more pelicans in treetops, check Flickr here:
