Arctic de-icing

Up in the Arctic you take your de-icing really seriously. They plug their cars in so the engines can be warmed up before they turn them over in the morning, as the oil gets too thick below -25ºC. And down at the airport they have plough the runway before every few take-off/landings and they spray the aircraft controls surfaces with 2 levels of anti-freeze. A liberal coating of the regular orange de-icing is first, then a targeted coating of green goes on the flaps and ailerons. Although the de-icing operator got a bit artistic with this one and spray a green wavy line over the tail fin.

Sorry about the poor photo.

We are still waiting for our place to come in. They don't hang about here, just offload, reload and fly out in about 20 minutes.
